Spring Outfits From The Supermarket - TU Sainsburys

I’ve decided to create a series called the Spring Supermarket Fashion Series...

Why? I hear you ask…

Well, I feel there are certain shops and clothing brands that many young people ignore because they are deemed to be ‘uncool’ or ‘unfashionable’. I have been SO guilty of this myself in the past but I am now waving the flag for these ‘uncool’ brands and I am writing the wrongs from my tunnel visioned, fashion conscious youth…

I’m not going to pretend I’ve got loads of money to spend on clothes because I haven’t. I am a sucker for a fashion bargain and I love to have a huge variety of clothes in my wardrobe sooo I’ve found the answer - Become more open minded about where you shop!!  Next time you’re in the supermarket buying ingredients for your Thursday night spag bol take your trolley for a trip down the clothing aisle... Yes, you may have a giggle at a few 'interesting' pieces but you WILL find a few hidden gems a long the way.

I got to the stage where my girlfriends would say ‘Nice top, where is it from?’ and I’d mutter ‘Sainsburys’ under my breath like I had just committed the biggest fashion faux pas… Their response of ‘You’re kidding me, that’s from the supermarket??’ gave me the great idea for this blog!

I now want to show you what I bought from my latest trip to Sainsburys and what items I bought from the TU range!
I was pretty chuffed with these fashion finds and I hope they encourage you to give the supermarket clothing aisle a little more attention than usual… Even if you don’t find anything you like straight away don’t give up. Pick yourself up and try again. I believe in you… Amen…x

The range in Sainsburys is called TU in case you're about to get all confused when I start using that word :)

Chunky White Knit - £18
I loved this chunky white knit I found in the jumper section! It’s perfect for the Spring Season and I’m a firm believer that anything white never stays white for long! (Especially if you have 4 dogs and a busy lifestyle…). If you’re on a bit of a budget why spend a lot of money on something that may only stay nice for 5 minutes? This jumper cost me just £18 and I really love it AND if it gets ruined in the future I won’t be crying a river...

Furry White Cardigan - £10
I knew I wanted this cardigan as soon as I saw it! It is SO cosy and I love the texture of it, I also love the turned up grey sleeves which give it a bit of extra detail. It’s perfect for Spring and layering over a casual graphic t shirt. Now for the price… It cost me *drum roll please* £10!!!

I sent my friend a picture of my outfit and she said ‘That’s so weird, I’ve just tried that cardigan on in Topshop…!' Well… Lo and behold Topshop have one pretty much EXACTLY the same! I still can’t believe how similar they are. The Topshop version is £38 pounds and I paid a tenner for mine… *smug face*

Black Bomber Jacket - £35

My next purchase was this black bomber jacket with a gorgeous fur trim hood. I had been looking for a casual light weight jacket for Spring and this is perfect! I had seen a jacket like this from Asos a few weeks before but I couldn’t bring myself to spend £69 on it. Although traditionally Spring should mean the weather is starting to get a little warmer but England is a funny old place and you’ve always got to be prepared for a spontaneous shower… (Hooray for the hood..)

Navy, Blue and White Jumper - £10
My last item from TU is this gorgeous navy, white and blue knitted jumper. I love the oversized look and raided the sale rail and found the biggest size I could get my hands on and it's perfect for the look I wanted to achieve. This jumper looks fab with black jeans but I think teaming it with a pair of white skinnies is perfect for Spring. Yes, you guessed it… It cost me a tenner! It’s so comfortable and I love the colours.

I hope you enjoyed reading this blog and stay tuned for my next Spring Supermarket Series where I’ll be rummaging the clothing rails from a different Supermarket!

I thought TU have produced some lovely items recently and I look forward to seeing what they produce in future seasons.

Thanks so much for reading and I'll see you in my next bloggy :)

My Perfect Spring Coat From Missguided for £25

My Missguided Lumberjack Coat

It's that time of the year again where I seem to be picking out all the 'in between' pieces from my wardrobe. It's too warm for a thick black coat but not quite warm enough to not need anything at all. Know the feeling...?

My answer to this predicament is this monochrome Lumberjack coat from Missguided. The white cheques brighten up any outfit, which is a bloody good job for the girl that lives in black 24/7!

The coat is lightweight and the shoulder pads and thick collar give the finished look structure (something I rarely achieve when constantly living in baggy oversized T-Shirts!)

It also has large pockets! How practical and useful I hear you say? Wrong... Deep pockets are fatal for me. I have a huge purse in my equally huge handbag but I'm ALWAYS throwing my bank card and Oyster Card in my rather useful 'Mary Poppins Bottomless' pockets. Convenient when I'm wearing the jacket... Disastrous when I've changed jackets and realised I've left the house without all my essentials. However, If you're more organised than I am these pockets are bloomin marvellous.

They are in fact a Godsend when your picture is being taken and you don't quite know where to shove your awkwardly long monkey arms..

See...

That's better...

Not only do I love this coat I adore the price too! If you've read my previous blog posts you would have realised that buying a full price item is something I very rarely do. This coat was originally £50 reduced to £25! HAPPY DAYS.

If you're looking for a perfect Spring jacket this is the one for you!

You can purchase one for yourself using the link below - http://www.missguided.co.uk/catalog/product/view/id/130985/s/lily-lumberjack-coat-black-check/?utm_source=ir&utm_medium=pla&utm_content=uk&utm_campaign=shopping&istCompanyId=dd1d2f6c-ac6e-490e-a0ff-19cccd3bab7d&istItemId=ixtammtrp&istBid=tzap&gclid=CNngi5nEjMUCFSEOwwodrUQAuw

I'm off to Tottenham Court Road this evening to watch a gig and interview the artist. I'm still in my pyjamas and I'm rocking a very greasy hair-do so I better get a wiggle on!

Thank you for reading and I'll see you in my next bloggy :)

My New Tassel Jacket From Boohoo - OOTD

Outfit Of The Day
Sunday 19th April - 2015

Suede Tassel Coat - Boohoo £18

On Sunday 19th April I was invited to be on a panel of judges for Open Mic UK. This is a huge competition with thousands and thousands of applicants all across the country. The standard was amazing and it was a real honour to be a part of it. The day was going to be very long and I knew I needed to be comfortable. My 'go to' outfit is ALWAYS a pair of ripped jeans and a plain oversized T-shirt. It's what I feel my best in despite the basic and unimaginative connotations of the 'just a pair of jeans and T-shirt vibe'. I wanted something I could wear over my favourite outfit that was going to give it a slight edge.
Whilst responding to emails one evening last week my wandering fingers landed on a clothing website. (It happens to the best of us...) Boohoo was my first port of call and away I went...

Me being me immediately headed to the Clearance section of the website. Tight arse? No! Money savvy? Yes! (Well I like to think so..)

If its got tassels and it's black I find it exceptionally hard to resist the 'Add To Basket' button and when I find something black with tassels AND it's in the SALE then, well, it's basically mine...

I have never been a fan of the 'cardigan' (or 'cardi' as my Mum likes to call it!) but I often want just a little something to shove over a t-shirt or a summer dress. My answer? THIS!

This absolute beauty of a fashion find is from Boohoo.com and has been reduced from £30 to just £18. The suede material feels lovely and it is the perfect purchase for the warmer months coming up, what with the short sleeves!

I can't wait to throw this baby over some of my dresses this summer. Nothing beats buying a sale item which you just know will work with lots of different items in your wardrobe.

Was it worth £18? Absolutely!

If you want to check out this item from the Boohoo website you can follow the link here - http://www.boohoo.com/restofworld/coats+jackets/lara-suede-tassel-hem-short-sleeve-coat/invt/azz15581

Be quick with sale items! If you like a bit of tassel too make sure you head over to Boohoo before your size runs out! You can also follow me on Twitter and Instagram to stay in the loop with all my bargain fashion finds.

H&M Sale Trousers for £7 Each!

My H&M Sale Finds

As I was sipping my Carrot and Ginger juice and tucking into a glorious fried breakfast in the City of Chelmsford I felt my ankle boots dig into my bare feet. In my cooked breakfast excitement I must have run out the door without socks on. In fact - I had plenty of socks to choose from, but what I really wanted were a pair of ankle socks to fit nicely under my ankle boots and when you're mind is focused on a specific, only that specific will do.  So on the to-do list that day was to purchase copious amounts of ankle socks. The nearest store where this would be made possible was H&M, so in I went!

I was immediately struck by a big sale rail and a huge array of trousers, jeans, tracksuit bottoms, leggings - You name it!  Knowing full well that my luck with trousers is pretty non existent, (I swear by Topshop jeans and they're all I seem to purchase). I suddenly felt optimistic and before I knew it I had picked up a handful of trousers in my size.  My boyfriend entered the store 5 minutes later and saw me with a huge handful of clothes with the "Oh bloody hell... Really Carelle??" look on his face, so I decided to cut my selection by half (to keep him on side of course!).  He immediately deemed one pair of trousers to be "So last year..." So my 'Gok Wan' of a boyfriend and I whittled the selection down to just 3.  You can return sale items in H&M so I decided to purchase and try them on at home.  Each pair of trousers were £7 so I handed over my £21 and off I went, without ankle socks... Bugger.

H&M Animal Print Jeans - £7

These jeans feel so lovely on and are extremely well fitted.  I always like to buy my jeans as tight as possible because after a few washes they nearly always lose their elasticity and there's nothing worse than wrinkly 'Skinny Jeans'.  Sexy.

My favourite thing about these jeans is that they will look great in the winter with grey or black tops but also wearable in the warmer months with a white t-shirt.  I'll certainly get my wear out of them and for £7 I think they're a bloomin good bargain!

The neighbours cat liked them too...

H&M Pinstripe Jeans - £7

These lovely black and white pinstripe jeans immediately caught my attention! It's commonly known that pinstripes create an illusion of length so with my 'long body and shorter legs' situation going on, these were a must have.

I feel with the pinstripe design these jeans can look quite smart with ankle boots but just as chilled and comfortable with casual converse.

The neighbours cat REALLY liked this pair...

H&M Animal Print Trackies - £7

Trackie Bums have never been something I'd spend a lot of money
on and I'd say 98% of my tracksuit bottoms are my cheap and cheerful collection from Primark.  It almost feels a treat to have a stylish pair from somewhere other than my good friend "Primarni".
These extremely comfortable pair from H&M meant I... A). Not only branched out but B). Kept to my "Less Than A Tenner On Trackies" tradition and snapped these up for £7!

They are so comfortable and have already been in the wash a handful of times and haven't once bobbled or shrunk.  I've been doing a lot of work from home recently and have had to be in comfortable clothes with my left leg raised on 3 pillows...Why you may ask? (I think i'll save that story for a future blog post...) but these trackie bums have been my most comfortable and stylish at a time where style is not something I'm rocking at the moment.  You should see what I've been wearing the last few weeks in order to be "comfortable".  Grim.

Unfortunately by this stage the neighbours cat was pretty bored of my posing...

I'm really pleased with my impulsive H&M sale items... Not bad for £21.  Never underestimate the power of an impulsive sale purchase.  If you can return sale items my advice is to buy quickly (to avoid frustrating tantrums in the fitting room) and promise to return any unwanted items EVEN if they were as cheap as chips! Don't just tell yourself you'll keep an item because it was cheap. If you're not going to wear it, return it. Now there's a good girl...

I'm finishing this blog post at midnight and i'm about to scoff my face with some Peanut Butter on toast... Going against all rules of healthy digestion and night time etiquette - Whoopsy

Thanks so much for reading and I'll see you in my next blog :)
